Enjoy colourful village festivals - The village hosts some fabulously colourful festivals too, ranging from "moules-frites" meals at a communal table in the village square to jazz concerts, firework displays and children's events, so ask at the town's Office de Tourisme to find out the schedule and how to book tickets if required.

You'll also find, in Angles, a cute little kiddies play area and in Longeville sure Mer, two kiddie parks.  Both have a great size playing area next to the them for a cheeky game of footie or family rounder's tournament!

La Mirabelle is supremely well placed for access to all the very best of the region's attractions. The seaside resort of La Tranche sur Mer is almost on the doorstep, at less than a ten-minute drive away. Here you can find clean, golden sands, a sunny microclimate (worthy of the south of France) and great family entertainment. Not much further afield are the calm and scenic waterways of the Marais Poitevin and stunning vistas of vineyards, sunflowers and poppies, depending on the season.

The area around Angles is a gourmet's delight! The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 10 minutes away. Early risers visiting the town's fish market (open every weekday at 5am) will be able to choose from a range of freshly caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustines & gambas.

Located so close to the village of Angles, you and the kids can pop out in the morning to pick up a fresh baguette, croissants or some yummy fresh cakes from one of the three wonderful bakers in the village.  A great opportunity for you all to practice your French each morning.  Or visit in the evenings to a choice of great restaurants - a classic French bistro, pizza restaurant, hotel restaurant, buffet restaurant or a creperie!

Angles has just around 2,000 permanent inhabitants but there's plenty going on in this little village. During the summer months Angles benefits from a twice weekly market, held on Wednesdays and Sundays, so you can enjoy this typically French way of shopping for your fresh fruit and veg, local wines and cheeses, house wares, plants and even the latest fashions.

The village has an Office de Tourisme, two boulangeries (bakers), a post office, banks, a hairdressers, a beauty salon, an aromatherapist, a pharmacy, creperie, cafes/bars and restaurants.  Also that important 'cave' for locally-produced wine plus a quaint boutique of arts/crafts for the perfect holiday gift.  A large Brocante (antiques centre), mini-supermarkets and an excellent butchers and fish mongers.  Just on the outskirts of the village is a large super-market and two petrol stations as well as additional restaurants, a boulanger, and beauty spa.

The small market village of Angles is found amidst the lovely countryside of the Vendée department of Western France, close to the Atlantic coast and on the edge of the Marais Poitevin marshes and waterways.  Angles is typically French, with soft, grey stone buildings built in the traditional style, a lovely church as its centrepiece, and a vibrant twice weekly market. The village of Angles is just a couple of minutes away by car.

You will also find a comprehensive folder in La Mirabelle listing restaurants, activities and local events, as well as plenty of ideas for entertaining the children. There is a huge write up of lots of local restaurants that we recommend visiting with the kids and if you want some 'adult time' we also supply the baby-sitting too!
